    About T lazy J Cockers

We are a small kennel in mid-Nebraska, both my husband and myself have full time jobs and in another 5 years will be able to retire. I guess I didn't want to "not" have something to do when that time came so I did a lot of talking to get a small kennel going before that day arrived. We did a lot of research and found 2 wonderful women who were willing to sell us some dogs to start our kennel.

Nancy from here in Nebraska sold us 3 beautiful females and a beautiful (handsome) male. These three females have already started having babies for us. Our girl’s names are Justice, Stacy and Vanna, and our male’s name is Chaz. We had Chaz a few months before we got the girls so he was in the house with us and we really became attached to him. He now resides with his ladies in the kennel.

Cindy, who is from Paris, Illinois, sold us Blair, Phoebe and Rachael. We also purchaced a male from her and his name is Joey. These 4 will not be having any babies until late next year or the first of 2006. Just depends on how they do. These 4 were just babies themselves when we brought them home. So they were also in the house with us
a lot. Rachael was just 8 weeks old and the other 3 kind of picked on her so I had to help her out of a lot of  scrapes, (she picked on the bigger kids a lot also)

My husband and I came from rural backgrounds. He is from a family who had a lot of horses and cattle. I was from a family who had every kind of animal that farms could possible have. My mom raised Cocker Spaniels when I was a vary young girl, and I guess that’s where I got my love for this dog. She was the sweetest, I think they called them
the same that we call them today, a black and white parti. Mom raised them and gave them away to all the neiborhood kids.

Our kennel has 6 runs, air conditioning and heat. We bought a camper that we use to bath and groom the dogs in. We also have it fixed up to whelp the mommies in. It also has heat, air, cooking facilities etc. So, any time I have to sleep with the moms I can do so, which, I already have. It is a really great feeling to assist in the delivery of a litter
of puppies, and the moms seem to appreciate the attention and help.

My daughter Tina and I decided to start raising dogs together and had planned on building a big kennel and having it all in one location. Our plans changed, and she has the same size housing for her dogs at her home as I do have here for mine. We tried to come up with a name for our kennel and since our brand for our cattle and horses just happened to be T lazy J we decided to use that as our name. It stands for Tina and Judy, neat huh?

Now a little about my daughter and her family:

Hi, I am Judy's daughter Tina. My husband Lynn and I have been married for 14 years and have two of the most precious kids in the world. (that is what my mom says anyway)
Lynn works for the State of Nebraska and I work for a Small Animal Clinic. I am a licensed Vet Tech and have worked for 12 years for the same Vet.
Our two children are really busy with school activities, boy scouts,
volley ball etc. everything that goes with having children in school. The last two years McKenzie has been in 4-H, showing rabbits, sewing, baking and this year she was involved with showing our family Cocker Spaniel Clancy.  He was only 7 months old and really did a good job for her, he learned fast and then she started him on agility, he seems to really like both events and tries his heart out. Tel also shows rabbits and can't wait to get in the show ring with one of the cockers.

I was given a female Cocker Spaniel when I was 4 years old. She was our family pet until some one wanted her for their pet so after we lost her we didn't get another house dog until Mom and Roger married. I got Skitter as a gift from my grandmother. A few years later after I was out on my own I got a little female and had a litter of puppies. Out of this litter of puppies I kept one who I named Rusty and at the age of 17 I had to say good-bye to the best friend I every had, but before I could let him go I had to get another dog and found one at Paris, IL. Mike and Cindy Hall had just the one we were looking for and each day we thank them one way or another for our Clancy. It’s never easy to say good-bye to a friend and after month with both Clancy and
Rusty we finally decided it was time for Rusty to go home to dog heaven.

Mom and I started talking about raising Cockers and finally after a lot of talking, we decided to go ahead and give it our best. We also purchased 2 females from Nancy , we have Jordan and Kissy, and from Mike and Cindy we got Stevie and Heidi. Let’s say that McKenzie and Tel have them. Those dogs worship the ground those two kids walk on.

Our kennel is almost the same as Mom's is, except ours isn't quite done yet, It will also have air conditioning in it and heat. We plan to whelp out the females in the kennel; Lynn is building a larger pen for that purpose.

I hope you have enjoyed meeting us, I'm not much of a writer but at least you will get a little knowledge about who we are.  We Really Love Our Cockers and That’s the TRUTH.
